After a quick 20-30 minute install you’ll be riding away with more horsepower, a lot more torque and unmatched throttle response. Each carburetor kit goes through rigorous testing during development to ensure we are delivering the best carbs on the market. Your carburetor kit will be delivered pre-jetted, and synced to your motorcycles specifications.

NGK Iridium spark plugs and a good in-line fuel filter are recommended.

After having some bad luck with the stock CV carbs, I decided to take a chance with the Murray kits. Installing the carb bodies was a quick operation, and the bike ran nicely on the first ignition with no backfires or fuel mix issues– something the bike hadn’t done in months. I think if you want a consistent and steady set of carbs , this is the way to go. I plan on buying the quick throttle tube soon too , to make the throttle response tighter.

I had been trying to make my mind up on dropping almost 50% of the value of my bike on a set of carbs but had a brief chat with Murray, found out his postage price is not the ruinously expensive amount I was expecting and decided to just go for it. I couldn’t believe they turned up less than a week after ordering. I initially had some issues getting the bike running after I fitted the carbs, which I knew was to do with my bike not the carbs, but Murray was there every step of the way with help and advice. Once I’d got to the bottom of the problem (it turned out to be fuel contamination from derusting the tank in case you are wondering) the bike fired right up. Installation is very straightforward (if you can turn a spanner, you can fit these carbs) but as I’d decided to keep my side panels and battery tray there was a fair bit of trial and error – cutting, fitting, cutting, trying again, etc. but I got there in the end.
Now, I have to be honest here, I’d read so many reviews and posts all over the place about how these carburettors will transform your CX and I was sceptical. Very sceptical. However, as soon as I pulled out of my road I could feel the difference, got to my favourite bit of dual carriageway and the difference is phenomenal! It honestly feels like a completely different bike. The throttle response is instant, they rev cleanly all the way through the rev range, there is a sporty, but not annoying, satisfying overrun pop, the torque is something else and they look awesome. The best part is though, as lively and sporting as they feel, pottering around town is a breeze as well. Apparently the mpg is going to drop but I honestly couldn’t care less – the difference is worth every extra penny I will spend on fuel. So in short – Murray’s a good fella, delivery is fast and relatively cheap and his carbs are fantastic. What more can you ask for?
